They also use your content to train their AI models by default (yes, that means basically anything on your screen, kind of like an AI keylogger). Hilariously, they have a section on ethical AI on their website where they talk about not selling your data. What they don't talk about is their take and train AI with your data themselves. Grammarly is also heckin' expensive. There is an open source, free alternative! It's called Harper . It does the same thing Grammarly does, but on your device so your data will not feed the business ambitions of another company. Harper today is a complex rules engine with semantic processing rather than an LLM. Although LLMs small enough to run on device are becoming more accessible, it likely makes little sense for this use case yet.…
