BBC comedy boss Jon Petrie is all about returners as the corporation’s annual Comedy Festival gets underway. Petrie has given second and third season greenlights to six shows plus an eighth for stalwart Two Doors Down and a documentary about Not Going Out , the BBC’s longest-running sitcom. Fresh off its BAFTA win for Best Scripted Comedy, Amandaland Season 3 is among the returners alongside Daisy May Cooper’s Am I Being Unreasonable? and Black Ops starring Gbemisola Ikumelo and SNL UK breakout Hammed Animashaun. There are also new seasons of Lucia Keskin’s Things You Should Have Done, A24 and Various Artists’ Such Brave Girls , and Mammoth, the latter of which is currently being developed in the U.S. with Fox. Alongside the returners, the BBC has ordered Hopley Hall [working title] starring Derry Girls lead Jamie-Lee O’Donnell and Opening Up created by stand-up comic Amy Gledhill with Starstruck actor Nic Sampson.…
