Published 4:21 pm Thursday, May 28, 2026 Redmond mayor Ed Fitch announced Thursday he will run for reelection in November, aiming for a fourth term in the city’s top job. In his state of the city address May 28, Fitch announced he will seek one more term as large-scale projects near completion and the city faces the challenge of rapid growth. “I just want to announce that because of these challenges and work I’ve been doing, I am going to run one more time for mayor, and then I’ll be terminated,” Fitch said at the end of his address. Fitch is currently in his third term as mayor, serving his first term from 1999 to 2001 then two consecutive terms. With population currently hovering around 39,000, projections from Portland State University predict Redmond to reach 50,000 to 55,000 people in the next 20 years.
