One of Kobe Bryant’s early NBA All-Star sneakers is set for its first-ever comeback next year. The Nike Kobe 4 “All-Star” will return as a Protro reissue in 2027 according to leaker @brandon1an. With a Varsity Red/White/Atomic Red colorway, the Kobe 4 All-Star was originally released in 2009 during a period of stricter NBA uniform guidelines. While the All-Star Game has historically been an outlier where players could wear non-matching styles, there was a period in the 2000s where players from the Eastern Conference would wear sneakers corresponding with the team’s blue colors, while the Western Conference squads would often wear red-based looks. For Bryant, this meant a mostly red variation of his Kobe 4, the Eric Avar-designed model which is credited with popularizing low-top basketball sneakers.
