Rant and Rave: Reader asks walkers to be considerate on shared paths

May 9, 2026 at 6:00 am Updated May 9, 2026 at 6:00 am RANT to walkers on bike and pedestrian shared paths. Please stay to the right. Do not walk the entire width of a path and give absolutely no consideration to those of us abiding by the rules of shared paths. We bike riders give a short bell or yell “On left,” and now we have someone wearing earbuds who can’t even hear or simply doesn’t move over! Be considerate of fellow humans. PLEASE STAY TO THE RIGHT! RAVE to our beloved Washington State Ferries system. They offered our family a dignified, beautiful ceremony to disperse our parents’ ashes in Puget Sound. Crew were very respectful and accommodating. Kudos to all involved.  RANT to the mother who brought her unruly child to the vet clinic, causing a very distressing situation for sick, scared and anxious pets and their owners. This is not a playground or daycare. Please leave your child at home or wait in your car until your appointment time.…
