Last year, British post-punks Squid released Cowards , which we named our Album Of The Week . Now, guitarist Anton Pearson is making his solo debut as an ambient artist. Driving Through Belgium is out in July, but the sprawling lead single "Tintinnabulation I" is here today. "I wanted to create a piece that sat somewhere between disorientation and hope," Pearson says, expounding: The high frequency tingling sound that builds the bridge between the two sections of this piece was the first thing I made. It was a loop made from some synths that I put through my pedalboard and pitched up a couple of octaves with a Whammy pedal. I liked how fragile and spikey it felt.…
