As a Redmond resident and community volunteer, I see how often those basic values are pandered to but not practiced. Deschutes County is growing fast, but young people, workers, and elders are being priced out and left out. I especially hear it from young adults who don’t see a future for themselves when it comes to affordability and the environment. I hear it from my own child. Amanda Page is the leader we need as a Deschutes County Commissioner. She is a steady, people-centered leader who, as a Klamath Tribes member, has an approach to the environment that is rooted in an Indigenous lens: sustainable practices and future generations are not negotiable.
