The Apple Vision Pro could be toast. According to a new report from MacRumors , Apple has "all but given up on the Vision Pro" even though the company just launched the M5 model last October. Despite the faster chip and the new Dual Knit Band, customers have remained uninterested. Article continues below Heading into 2026, the Vision Pro was already on the decline. In January, it was reported that production had been severely cut due to underwhelming sales. The device has allegedly only sold 600,000 units total since its launch; Apple is tight-lipped about its sales numbers. MacRumors reports that Apple has received an "unusually high percentage" of returns that far exceed any other current Apple device. Well into late 2025 there were rumors that Apple was working on a lighter, cheaper Vision Air, but that project was scrapped in favor of smart glasses.
