One female was killed and three other people were injured early Sunday morning in a shooting at a post-prom party in Indianapolis , according to police. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on the 4000 block of North Park Avenue, near 38th Street, shortly before 1 a.m. local time, NBC affiliate 13News reported. Police confirmed that the shooting took place during a large gathering of teenagers at a short-term rental property following a high school prom. Upon arrival, police discovered a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries. The Marion County Coroner’s Office is expected to determine the cause and manner of death. Shortly after the initial response, police were notified that two additional gunshot victims had arrived at Methodist Hospital.
