Comedian John Mulaney is a man of many jokes. And he’s delivered them in many ways across multiple platforms, beginning with “Saturday Night Live,” where he spent about five years writing sketches. Since then, he’s released four Netflix specials, including “The Comeback Kid,” “Kid Gorgeous” and the most recent, “Baby J,” in 2023, which tackled his drug relapse and recovery, headline-making divorce, new marriage and fatherhood within the scope of a few years. And he wasn’t afraid to reveal some of the dark details of that transformational era in “Baby J.” He describes the intervention of his loved ones before he went into recovery: “As mad as I was when I walked in there, I was like, ‘This is a good lineup.'” The special received high praise from The New York Times. “Mulaney has such a chipper affect that he can put across grim material without weighing the show down, a superpower these days when ambitious comics are often expected to do more than tell jokes,” wrote critic Jason Zinoman.…
