question for the sub. been exploring stuff outside the standard sit-and-watch-your-breath thing and curious what other people use. Things that work for me as a mindfulness practice even though they aren't technically meditation: pulling a tarot or oracle card. one card, maybe 10 minutes sitting with the image and what comes up. My brain likes having something specific to look at instead of nothing. writing down dreams the second I wake up. You can't do this on autopilot, you have to actually pay attention or you lose them. walking with no headphones. No music no podcast just walking. Surprisingly hard. Phone stays in pocket. Making tea properly. Boil the water, watch it steep, hold the cup. Sounds dumb but it actually slows me down for a bit. Drawing or sketching. Not for the result, for the looking. You can't draw what you don't actually look at. All of these get me to roughly the same place sitting practice is supposed to. Present, not in my head, not running on default mode.…
