French authorities are investigating an alleged foreign interference campaign targeting a hard-left political party ahead of March's municipal elections, with an obscure Israeli firm named BlackCore potentially involved, according to three sources familiar with the matter. French intelligence agencies are probing who commissioned the alleged BlackCore operation. The campaign reportedly sought to smear three candidates from the France Unbowed party. Tactics included deceptive websites and social media accounts alleging criminal behaviour, alongside disparaging digital advertisements, two sources indicated.
