Lilly Singh is set to be honored at The Hollywood Reporter ’s Women in Entertainment Canada gala and summit on May 28. The Canadian actress and producer will receive the Equity in Entertainment Award at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto. The tribute recognizes Canadians whose success opens the way for industry change and access for members of underrepresented communities. Backed by her indie banner Unicorn Island Productions, Singh’s recent work includes the comedy film Doin’ It, which she co-wrote, produced and stars in. That follows the YouTube star becoming a late-night TV host with NBC ’s A Little Late. Singh also launched the south Asian creator network Hypen8 and hosts the CTV quiz show Battle of the Generations, where contestants from different generations compete in pop culture trivia.
