April 30, 2026 at 6:00 am Updated April 30, 2026 at 6:00 am RAVE to the young woman and son, along with their white standard poodle, who kindly picked me up after attempting to dive into the sidewalk again. I was stunned and damaged, somewhat nicked and bloodied too. You both picked me up, then offered to help me home. I just wanted to thank you, as I didn’t get your names. There are good people on this planet of ours. Thanks again. RANT to charities that send “reminder” solicitations several weeks after having acknowledged receipt of a recent donation. In the last two weeks, I received three such solicitations from charitable organizations with a pointed note that I haven’t donated since 2025. In each instance, they acknowledged my 2026 donations in writing about a month before they sent new solicitations. The “reminder” language is questionable in itself, given that past donations to charities were voluntary and didn’t imply future support. The organizational missteps add insult to injury.…
