I tried to download a program from appdoze, a site I found like a few years ago from the megathread of this forum, I ran the installer and when I opened the patch file, Windows Security gave me a notification saying that it quarantined a file and the tag was "Trojan:Win32/Kepavll!rfn" and I'm unable to type the affected file's name.
I instantly removed it with the Windows Security and also uninstalled the app with revo uninstaller. I made a quickscan with Windows Security, it didn't find anything and I also ran malwarebytes after (free version). First initial scan found some files with "browser hijacker" I quarantined them and then ran a deepscan and it didn't find anything.
Is there anything else I can do to make sure the PC is safe? Could this be a false flag? If not, could it have already affected?
I'm thinking of wiping the whole disk and reinstalling Windows but I only have this one computer and I don't have anywhere else to get a usb to install windows.
