Nancy Diane Wick August 22, 1947 – March 30, 2026 Nancy was born Nancy Diane Merrifield in Portland, OR on August 22, 1947, to Berton and June (Millar) Merrifield. She moved to Bend in 1952 where she attended Reed School (now the Deschutes County Historical Museum), Allen School (now the site of the 3rd Street Safeway store), Bend Junior High School, now the Bend./LaPine Schools Administration building), and graduated from Bend High School in 1965. She was on the last court of the Bend Water Pageant, which was held on Mirror Pond over the 4th of July from 1933 to 1965. She married Don Wick in 1967. After a short time away, she and Don returned to Bend in 1976 where she worked for several years as a legal secretary. Following retirement, she and Don spent several years traveling, hiking, golfing, and walks with their dog, Bogey. Nancy was a member of “Boots on the Move” women’s hiking group and spent several happy years hiking the many trails of the Cascades and the Greater Central Oregon area.…
