A 19-year-old Colorado Springs man was identified by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office as the victim in a fatal weekend shooting along Powers Boulevard.
Cortez Mason Jr. died in the shooting that was reported around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on the city’s east side, Colorado Springs police said in a news release Tuesday.
Two others, a man and a juvenile female, were hospitalized, police said.
The shooting happened in the 2800 block of Powers Boulevard, near Constitution Avenue, police said.
No suspect information was available as of Tuesday afternoon and no arrests have been announced.
Mason’s death was the fifth homicide in Colorado Springs this year. Last year at this time, there were 14 homicides.
