For the first time since 2008, the Colorado Avalanche will look to close out a playoff series at home Wednesday. The last time they were able to do so also happened to be against the Minnesota Wild. Here are three keys to Colorado finishing this series off in Game 5. Stay disciplined The Avalanche were easily the more dominant team at 5-on-5 in Game 4, but when they started to take some penalties in the second period, it allowed the Wild to regain some momentum. Half of the goals that the Wild scored on a Colorado goaltender during the two games in Minnesota came while on the man advantage. Josh Manson’s butt-ending incident in the first period killed the momentum the Avalanche had built at the beginning of the game and it took them a bit to regain that. At 5-on-5, the Avalanche have shown they’re the superior team. They just have to keep the game at 5-on-5 as much as possible.
