Gain staging in the corporate world . I would like to discuss my approach. Hello, I’m trying to start a discussion and hear some opinions on my gain staging for corporate events (mostly spoken stuff) Right now I'm doing a small event and these are the specs Our Console: Behringer X32 Speakers: 2x LD Systems Stinger 12" (Active) on tripods Mics: LD systems headsets on LD systems body packs (505) Room: Small/Medium, 60 people, more or less Audio output 1x mono matrix + livestream bus and 2 backup recording buses My Current Workflow: I typically set my Preamp Gain so the meters hit "early yellows" (approx -18 to -12 dBFS). I keep my channel faders at around 0. - I do this so I can send the signal post fader to the livestream bus and have a really healthy signal . However, to keep the volume appropriate for the room without blowing ears, I find myself cutting significantly at the output stage.…
