There were also instances when it left me feeling alone, scared, and unsafe, only to reassure me with comfort and safety right after. The same way that home, and good parents make a child feel. Nostalgia, in a manner of speaking. As adults, we are continually in search of this reassurance. When we don’t find it anywhere, we seek it from religion, ideology, or politics. Somewhere that will give us a sense of belonging and certainty, however misplaced. It is nowhere but within us, and it is called faith. Isn’t that what the great God Pan teaches us? Those who don’t find this faith anywhere subconsciously seek it in our dreams, that place in between worlds where our humanity meets that of others.…
