(Christopher Penler/shutterstock.com) I'm genuinely amazed that the fake ICE tipline set up by comedian Ben Palmer — who specializes in pretending to be what he's not — is still operational. Of course, that fact is a pretty damning indictment of this country. Comedic value aside, it's extremely interesting to get a firsthand view into the mindset of people who hear their neighbors speak Spanish and immediately try to get them deported. Trying to get someone deported without even talking to them is a whole new level, though. The most recent highlighted call from the fake ICE line comes from someone living in a gated community (of course) who thinks that her next-door neighbor is leading a terror cell because… he's Middle Eastern and has friends over. This feels like a South Park bit from fifteen years ago. What a bizarre way to look at the world.…
