Sanity check before I pull the trigger (Rockhopper Expert) Posting this thread before I head to LBS tomorrow morning: 40M, slightly on the heavier side for my height (100kg/220lbs) I already own an Enduro FS bike (27.5" wheels, Pike 150mm / Deluxe Select+ and GX Eagle) for bike-parks and a road bike for the asphalt. Lately I am being nostalgic of my Hard-tail days and I am looking to add a Specialized Rock-hopper Expert into the collection. Partially because of N+1 rule, but also because I feel it will allow me to do some off-road stuff in my area without the sluggishness of an Enduro bike. There is a Rock-hopper Expert currently 30% off (around 800€) with Judy fork, SX 1x12 drive-train and SRAM Level brakes. I am fully aware that it's lower spec next to the FS bike, but I think it can compensate because of 29" tires vs 27.5" and less energy loss from the rear suspension. Note that it will be used purely as 3rd bike for light off road and easy XC routes. Is this a good idea or a waste of money?…
