German sportswear giant Adidas saw its shares climb on Monday after Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe made history, becoming the first person to complete a marathon in under two hours in an official race. His groundbreaking achievement was accomplished while wearing the brand’s Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 trainers. Sawe shattered one of athletics’ most formidable barriers on Sunday, securing victory at the London Marathon with an astonishing time of one hour, 59 minutes, and 30 seconds. The quest for a sub-two-hour marathon has been a major ambition in sport for many years. Following his triumph, Sawe proudly displayed his $500 (£369) Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 trainer, which bore the markings "WR" and "sub-2" in black marker.
