UNLV director of athletics Erick Harper will make a base salary of $505,000 per year under his new contract with the university. Harper’s new four-year deal with UNLV , which was announced Tuesday, comes as he’s helped the department see success in various sports, namely football. Harper hired former head coach Barry Odom and current coach Dan Mullen, which bucked the trend of the Rebels seldomly succeeding on the field. They have played in bowl games in three straight years while also reaching the Mountain West Conference title game three years in a row, both for the first time in school history. UNLV has won a combined 20 regular-season and conference tournament championships under Harper. Men’s basketball coach Josh Pastner also was hired by Harper, who started on Jan. 1, 2022.
