What’s my next step? Hello! I had this overgrown area where we used to have bushes that I hated so I had them ripped out. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do but now realize I just want super low maintenance crap in here (I’m going to do something with the foundation - either stone or paint). My ultimate plan (unless you have other suggestions is to put cardboard down and mulch and put potted plants on top of that and be done with it. I’m tired of planting things and then a few years later have to rip them out because they’re overgrown. I pulled so much of it (overgrown weeds and crabgrass) out but there is still a lot of crabgrass roots as well as roots from the previous bushes and Crepe Myrtle. (I can’t kill this Crepe Myrtle). What do I need to do before I put the cardboard down to get my best chances of nothing getting through it and should I border it with the stone or do maybe one of those black plastic borders?…
