The 2026 Italian Open championship will be decided Saturday when Coco Gauff takes on Elina Svitolina. The 22-year-old Gauff is chasing her first Internazionali BNL d’italia crown while the 31-year-old Svitolina is looking to capture the title for the third time. Svitolina has not won this tournament since 2018, but she is enjoying quite the renaissance this season. The Ukrainian is 22-7 in 2026 and has made tournament finals three times this year, including the ASB Classic in January - which she won. She has also faced Gauff twice already in 2026, and won both times. Svitolina downed Gauff in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open (6-1, 6-2), and beat her again a few weeks later in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships (6-4, 6-7, 6-4).
