I recently acquired a 60GHz 4T4R mmWave radar module. It can detect the XYZ spatial coordinates of multiple people within a 6-meter diameter and supports setting up multiple detection zones, categorized into exclusion zones (shielding areas) and sensing zones. Its performance is quite impressive and accurate.
I’m currently designing a solution to integrate it into Home Assistant (HA). Since I want to capture movement trajectories, the data transmission frequency for positioning will be quite high—perhaps two updates per second? Given this requirement, would WiFi MQTT or Zigbee be a better choice? I have a Zigbee dongle on hand, but I suspect WiFi MQTT might be more suitable. Also, if I deploy these sensors in multiple rooms, would a WiFi Mesh network be more effective?
