Imagine if Tywin wasn't dead at the time of the meeting in the Dragon Pits, where Danny shows up with her dragons and shows Cersei the undead. How would he react? Would he make an alliance with Danny and honor it? Would Danny be able to forgive him for betraying the mad king? IMO He would be smart enough to see the writing on the wall, he always had the ability to analyze the situation objectively and make the right decision to keep his family in power or close to it.
