Location: Florida. I was on a week long birthday cruise when on day 2 my Rover sitter informed me my cat had fallen off of her balcony (4th floor) and she couldn’t find her. Got Rover’s safety and security team involved to help find her, sitter found her 5 days later with a broken foot. I returned home the day after she was found and immediately took her to a vet er to get an official diagnosis to begin some kind of treatment. My cat now has 5 pins in her foot in which this specific kind of orthopedic surgery costs approximately $12k. Rovers policy reimbursed just under $10k, they cover medical bills for up to 30 days. My cat”s recovery process was 12 weeks of weekly splint changes, her being confined to a cage to limit movement of her repaired foot which was filled with lots of protest meowing equivalent to a colicky baby, medications twice a day, multiple imaging/X-rays that required sedation etc.…
