Mom got her roof replaced, is this acceptable? As title states, my mom got her roof replaced, due to “hail damage” door to door sales people said it would get covered by insurance so she went with it, insurance is covering part of it, but i digress. They replaced skylights and shingles, but said decking was fine. For what its worth my mom also said “wow this looks alot worse than it was before”. From what i know (i work as a handyman) this seems shoddy, and like the decking definitely should have been brought up in the discussion for replacement. The flashing around the chimney looks slapped in place and they used SO much butyl, it just gives me pause, but i dont know enough to know if this is just the best they could do in this case (doubtful). Roof is super wavy now, it wasnt before. I walked the roof once they were done (i couldnt get over there while they were working), and there are a bunch of soft spots, some so much so that i feel like i could almost put my foot through some places.…
