Total diesel and jet fuel stocks have taken a slight dip, while more petrol is on its way, the latest update shows.
At 11.59pm on Wednesday there were 51 days' worth of petrol, 44.3 days' worth of diesel and 54.1 days' worth of jet fuel in the country or on its way.
This is compared to 49.3 of petrol, 47.7 of diesel, and 55.1 of jet fuel in the previous update.
Three ships are within two days of arriving in New Zealand, while a further eight are on the water outside the Exclusive Economic Zone.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment said this was expected following the arrival of several large shipments, with stocks being drawn down.
The ministry said some reductions over the next few update were expected, and normal.
