I’ve been applying to roles on LinkedIn, but I keep noticing that most of the jobs I find were posted like 1–2 days ago already.
I always hear advice like “apply early” or “be one of the first applicants,” but I genuinely don’t understand how people are even finding these listings the moment they go live.
Are people:
Using some kind of alerts or automation?
Constantly refreshing job boards all day?
Applying directly on company websites instead of waiting for them to show up on LinkedIn?
Getting referrals/internal heads-ups before the job is even posted?
It feels like by the time I see a posting, it already has 100+ applicants and I’m late to it.
Would really appreciate any tips on how people stay ahead of job postings and apply earlier.
