The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a plea of a former Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) constable , who was accused of involvement with intermediaries and illegal gratification in a recruitment drive. Justice Subhas Mehla was dealing with a plea of a constable challenging his 2002 dismissal on the grounds that it was initiated with prejudice and a violation of natural justice. “The charges clearly conveyed to the petitioner the nature of allegations against him, namely, disobedience of directions issued by a superior officer during the recruitment process and involvement in an arrangement relating to illegal gratification,” the court said on May 1.
