I have very fair skin, the type that burns after being outside for 10 minutes. I wear sunscreen, sunshirts and wide brimmed hats. Every year, I would end up buying a new hat as the brim would get saggy and floppy. It would block my vision and basically be useless. I was shopping with my daughter, trying on hats and complaining about how they never last. My daughter suggested buying the craft glue you use for things like paper mache and see if it would stiffen the brim. I'm happy to say it worked. Spent a dollar twenty five at the dollar store. I put a piece of parchment paper on the backside of a pizza pan. I used an old paint brush and painted both sides with the glue. Set it on the parchment and weighted it down with cans of soup. It took a couple of hours to dry due to the thick coat that I applied. The result is great. The brim is actually firmer than when I first bought the hat. No idea how long it will last but I'm guessing the whole summer as long as it doesn't blow off into the lake.…
