The MacBook Pro has just been refreshed and given the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. There are already rumors that the device is expected to have bigger updates. The devices are rumored to be getting a significant redesign by early next year and Apple may use the branding MacBook Ultra for the devices.

As of now, 6 new features have been rumored such as the M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, 2nm TSMC advanced 2nm process, touch capabilities, cellular connectivity built-in, thinner design and an OLED display. The release date is yet to be figured out but an early 2027 debut looks to be the most likely time.

The MacBook Pro was last redesigned back in 2021 when it had the M1 Pro and M1 Max chip, which means that the MacBook Ultra would be the first big redesign of the device in these last 5 years. It may be a device that many customers are holding out on.
