Can I reduce noise traveled into my closet by using mass loaded vinyl and sound dampening blankets? I’m not talking about fully soundproofing. I just need to reduce the background noise of things like, the washer and dryer running, bathroom fan, someone taking a shower etc. I’m not expecting that it’s going to be perfect without completely remodeling the structural space in my closet and thus breaking rules of the condo agreement. I also want to use acoustic foam, but I’m aware that doesn’t help with blocking noise entering the space. How should I go about this? I mean even if it’s not nearly perfect, it’s gotta do something or at least help a little bit, right? So which order should I place these materials? Should I place the mass loaded vinyl on the walls ceiling and door first, then hang the blanket over it? Or would adding the blankets be overkill? And how should I incorporate the foam?…
