Let’s spare a thought for the children of the future, trying to settle down for cozy bedtime stories when there’s micro-plastics clogging their brains, smog clouding their windows, and raging storms swallowing up their cities. Will they recognize the pristine landscapes of classic children’s fiction — Winnie the Pooh ’s idyllic Hundred Acre Wood or The Little Mermaid ’s clear blue sea? Maybe they’d appreciate something more… relatably dystopian? A toxic wind blowing through the willows, perhaps. Or Mowgli walking through a burning jungle. Design by Shwin Sounds depressing, right? But with global temperatures soaring and the UN reporting an “unprecedented” 150 climate disasters last year, it’s looking more and more likely that we’re on the precipice of a scary, smoggy, catastrophe-ridden world for our kids (bummer, we know!).…
