I’m not sure if this is new (bike is less than a year old) but my damper is making noises I can’t quite figure out. When pressing down on the saddle it’s a low pitched sound similar to what I hear with my older bike with a basic deluxe damper, although slightly louder. When the damper extends there’s a more high pitched noise and I was wondering if that’s what the rebound usually sounds like.
I checked(at home) the influence of different HS/LS compression settings but the sound stays the same. Setting rebound to the slowest leads to slow extension and the sound isn’t audible, with the fastest rebound setting the sound is similar as in the video.
The damper works fine on the trail and I’m not loosing pressure or have excessive buildup of oil on the shaft.
Is this just the way this damper sounds or does it require fixing?
