The Boston Licensing Board today approved a food-serving license for Sweet Teez, 1211 Dorchester Ave. in the Dot Block complex in Dorchester.

At a hearing on Wednesday, owner Teresa Maynard said the 25-seat bakery and cafe will serve only nut-free items, including cookies, cakes, pies and mini quiches, along with coffee and tea and, maybe, matcha.

"What a great concept," board Chairwoman Kathleen Joyce said. "We don't see a lot of this; it's much needed."
