For 30 years, the Vans Warped Tour has been instantly recognizable by its iconic logo: a giant yellow arrow pointing to the side, suggesting you follow the journey toward the final destination of “punk rock summer camp.” The design is emblematic of the festival’s on-the-road roots, for sure. But it also, maybe subconsciously, has had another meaning—while other music events went one way, Warped always went the other. From day one, the festival carved its own path. While some events may have a token punk rock or emo band, Warped Tour has them all. While others stick to headliner hierarchy, Warped Tour went for equity,  with bands listed in alphabetical order rather than by rank and status. While some offerings pack in carnival rides for extra entertainment, Warped Tour brings in skateboarding and extreme sports.…
