im a first year in a plumbing company and they have this position called Trimbler, which is basically holding a tablet and using a robot to mark on the ground where the pipe is supposed to go. And the person whom hired me is basically giving me no choice but to do the trimble job if i say no ill probably get the boot . Idk how to feel about it, i wanted to join the union because i wanted to be hands on and learn how to run the job and everything a typical plumber does but with this position ive seen that every trimble guy is miserable because they’re excluded from the hands on and instead have to deal with making sure everything is in the right spot im trying to be optimistic about it but knowing ill probably have no hands on experience if i do when i do then ill just suck at plumbing and ill be a trimble person for ever w no room for growth idk help me see the good side in this?
