Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is returning to Nike, Complex has confirmed. Gilgeous-Alexander’s first signature sneaker Converse, the Shai 001 , was introduced in February 2025, in the midst of SGA’s first NBA MVP season. He’d go on to win an NBA Championship, Finals MVP, and a second MVP in 2026 wearing the sneaker. In an exclusive statement to Complex, Nike says “We are thrilled to welcome Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to the Nike Basketball signature family. Coming after back-to-back MVP seasons, we are excited to build on Shai’s incredible impact with Converse as one of the most creative leaders in the game.” SGA played in Nike during his time at the University of Kentucky, and his earlier days in the NBA, before signing to Nike-owned Converse in 2020.
