Las Vegas Raiders third-round pick Keyron Crawford got new teammate Maxx Crosby’s phone number when the star defensive end called him on draft day to congratulate him and welcome him to the organization. He wasn’t shy about using it. Crawford, a fellow defensive end out of Auburn, called Crosby the next day to ask for advice on transitioning to the league. “I was like, ‘I belong here,’ ” Crawford said on whether he was nervous to call the superstar pass rusher. “I was just calling to actually get pointers. I asked him what is something that you messed up your rookie year that I should take note of, and he gave me a great response. He was like, ‘Bro, just be yourself. Be respectful. You don’t have to say much. All you have to do is work. That’s all we care about, and you’re going to be able to fit in perfectly.’ ” Crawford did just that as he hit the ground running in his first week in the building for rookie minicamp.
