Minnesota signee Chase Wilk hit a two-run home run to help lead Bishop Gorman’s baseball team to a 4-3 home win over Legacy in a Class 5A Southern Region tournament winners bracket game Thursday. The Gaels (26-5), the Mountain League champions, advance to play Arbor View at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gorman in a winners bracket contest. Legacy (14-15), the Sky League’s No. 3 seed, falls to the losers bracket and will host Durango at 4 p.m. Friday in an elimination game. Justin Rodrigues went 2-for-3 with an RBI double for Gorman. Gonzaga commit Hudson Ciulla earned the win for the Gaels, pitching a complete game with 13 strikeouts. Easton Lake went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a triple for the Longhorns. No. 1S Centennial 3, No. 3M Palo Verde 1: At Centennial, a combined no-hitter powered the Sky League champion Bulldogs to a home win against Palo Verde, the Mountain League’s No. 3 seed.
