I'm rewatching Friends right now (for probably the 32nd time), and I just finished the episode where Rachel's boss at Bloomingdale's (Joanna) fatally DIES after getting hit by a cab in Manhattan. It's true — seconds, minutes, or even moments can be the only thing standing between someone and the Grim Reaper. The truth is, life is short. You hope to make it safely to a reasonable age without too many health scares or near-death experiences, but the reality is that most of us will face at least a few near misses in our lifetimes.
