Flau’jae Johnson scores 20 points Seattle Storm’s preseason win vs. Portland Fire April 29, 2026 at 9:40 pm Climate Pledge Arena got a first look at a brand-new coach, a new-look group and a new-ish regional rival in Wednesday’s preseason finale, a 91-81 Storm victory against the Portland Fire. The Fire played in Portland from 2000-02, and were recently revived after 23 dormant seasons. The teams will meet four times during the regular season. Portland will be back at Climate Pledge Arena on July 4. First-year head coach Sonia Raman took over her new spot in front of the Storm bench. Raman served as an assistant coach for the New York Liberty last season. Seattle announced her hiring in November. The Storm had 18 free-throw attempts during the opening quarter alone. Flau’jae Johnson sank a three as time expired and celebrated like this game counted. She kicked off the second quarter similarly, part of a team-leading 20 points .
