I love my best friend, but I’m reaching my breaking point. Every time we go camping, he "forgets" at least one or two major items (stove, sleeping pad, headlamp, etc.). I tell him every single time to use a checklist and pack his own stuff, but he doesn't, and I end up double-packing because I know if I don't, he’ll just suffer (or keep me awake complaining).

I’m tired of being the gear mule. Short of leaving him to sleep on the dirt, how do you guys handle "forgetful" campers? Do I just deal with it? Or just stop inviting him?
