A study by the National Park Service revealed the debris, excavated from the White House’s demolished East Wing, tested positive for lead, pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and other toxic chemicals. Around 30,000 cubic yards of excavated soil have been deposited at the golf course since October 2025. A Department of the Interior spokesperson said that the debris was tested multiple times and met all legal standards, claiming a “thorough process was followed”. President Trump has reportedly expressed interest in rebranding the golf course as the ‘Washington National Golf Course’.…
