Two Ole Miss freshmen football players charged with DUI in three-hour weekend span

A pair of freshmen Ole Miss football players were arrested by the Oxford Police Department over the weekend on DUI charges.  Quarterback Rees Wise was charged with DUI — operating a motor vehicle under the influence — and reckless driving, while running back Damarius Yates was also charged with DUI and speeding and reckless driving, according to arrest dockets viewed by the Clarion Ledger.  Wise, 18, had been booked shortly after midnight on Sunday and had appeared to be out of the custody of the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.  Rees Wise #19 of the Mississippi Rebels during the 2026 Ole Miss Spring Football Practice.
