No matter how much you dream of moving out of the U.S., there’s likely going to be paperwork, unexpected costs, loads of waiting, and a constantly evolving political climate that is about as easy to forecast as next month’s weather. The classic border run, where you move to a country on a tourist visa, then cross the border for a few hours before returning for a fresh tourist visa, is all but dead. And with nearly all of Europe now part of the EU, you can’t just slowly move from one country to the next every few months.
